Vishing is phishing by phone: a fraudster calls pretending to be your bank or lender to extract details or push you into moving money.

Definition

Vishing uses a phone call and social pressure — a convincing 'fraud team' asking you to 'confirm' security details or move funds to a 'safe' account. Caller IDs can be spoofed to look genuine.
