What's happening
It is easy to forget the finance account when someone leaves, especially if they set it up. But retained access means they can still see information, and their credentials are a risk if compromised later. This is one of the most common avoidable account exposures.
What to do
Open Users and remove them — access ends at once. If they were the only administrator, promote a staying colleague first. Change any shared secret they knew and confirm alerts go to a current address. Build removal into your offboarding checklist so it never slips.
