Settle or arrange the balance
Before closing, make sure any outstanding balance is repaid or that you have arranged how it will be. You can see the figure in your account, and the Credit Corp calculators can help you check a settlement position. If money is tight, talk to us first — closing is not a substitute for arranging repayment, and we handle difficulty with care and no friction.
Download everything you'll want
Once an account is closed, self-service access ends, so download your records first: statements, your agreement, and any export you want for your books. See downloading statements and exporting your account history. Keep these with your company records — you may need them for accounts, an audit, or a future finance application.
Tidy up access
Remove users who no longer need access, and confirm no scheduled collections will run after closure. If a colleague set the account up and has left, make sure an active administrator handles the closure so nothing is left in limbo.
What we keep afterwards
After closure we retain only the records we are legally required to, for the retention period that applies to lending — see requesting erasure. If you want a copy of your personal data before or after closing, make a data request. Closing well now saves you chasing records later.
Frequently asked questions
Can I close with a balance outstanding?
You need to repay or arrange the outstanding balance as part of closing. If cash is tight, talk to us first — we handle repayment difficulty with care, and closing doesn't clear a debt.
Will I still be able to see my statements after closing?
Self-service access ends at closure, so download your statements, agreement and any exports beforehand. You can still make a data request afterwards for personal data we hold.
What data do you keep after I close?
Only what law and regulation require us to retain, for the applicable period, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We don't keep personal data indefinitely.
