Nominating someone to help manage your account

You can nominate a trusted person to help with your account — for a busy period, an absence, or a health reason. Doing it properly means they can help while you stay in control.

When a nominee helps

There are times when a director needs someone else to help run the finance side — a period of illness, extended travel, parental leave, or simply delegating day-to-day admin to a trusted colleague. Rather than an informal 'just use my login' arrangement, a proper nomination records that person on the account so they can be verified and dealt with, while you keep ultimate control and can end it whenever you wish.

How to set it up

For routine help, add the person as a user with a role matched to what they need to do. For someone who needs to speak to us on your behalf, record them as a nominee so we can verify and deal with them — contact us to set this up, and we will confirm the scope with you. Either way, decide in advance how much access is appropriate and set the role accordingly.

Support during illness or difficulty

If you are unwell or facing a difficult period, tell us — we can put appropriate support in place and note who is authorised to help. This is separate from any concern about repayments; if money is tight, we treat that with care and no friction. You do not have to manage everything alone.

Keeping control

A nomination does not sign your account away. You can see what your nominee can do, change the scope, and end it at any time. Keep alerts switched on so you always see activity, even when someone is helping you.

Frequently asked questions

Is a nominee the same as an account user?

Related but not identical. A user has a login and works within the account; a nominee is someone we recognise as authorised to deal with us about it. You can set up either, or both.

Can I limit what my nominee can do?

Yes. You set the scope — full involvement or a narrow, specific remit — and can change or end it whenever you choose.

What if I'm too unwell to set this up myself?

Contact us and we will help, verifying the situation carefully. We would rather put proper support in place than leave you or your account unsupported.
