What you can update
From Account or Company settings you can keep your details current: trading and contact information, phone numbers, correspondence preferences and, where relevant, your registered office. Keeping these accurate means our notices reach you and that identity and verification checks — which compare what you tell us against trusted sources — go through smoothly rather than flagging a mismatch.
How to update them
- Sign in and open Company details.
- Edit the fields that have changed.
- Save. For sensitive changes we may verify — see how we verify your identity.
Changes that also go to Companies House
Some changes — company name, registered office, directors — must also be filed at Companies House; updating them with us does not update the public register, and vice versa. Keep both in step so official records and your finance account match. Mismatches can slow down future applications and, occasionally, trigger extra checks.
Keep contact details watched
Make sure the email that receives security alerts and notifications is current and monitored, especially after a staff change. If the sign-in email itself needs to move, see changing your sign-in email.
Frequently asked questions
Does updating details with you update Companies House?
No. The two are separate. Company name, registered office and director changes must be filed at Companies House as well, and vice versa. Keep both in step.
Why does matching data matter?
Verification checks compare what you tell us against trusted sources. Current, matching details let those checks pass smoothly rather than flagging a mismatch and slowing things down.
Which changes do you verify?
Sensitive ones — for example changes that affect who controls the account. We may confirm your identity first, which protects the account from unauthorised changes.
